Our place is over on Irani Road in Dahanu. It’s part of the Thane district but it feels very different from the crowded parts of Mumbai. We are at D10/11 in Tustum Bagh. It is a bit of an older industrial spot, but it serves us well for what we do. Dahanu Road is the nearest station, and from there it is just a short trip to reach us. The air is a bit fresher here because of the trees and the proximity to the coast. Most days start around nine when the shutters go up. We have a small crew and everyone knows what they need to do without someone shouting orders. The workspace has seen better days, with some peeling paint and old furniture, but the machines are what matter. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and talking to truck drivers who come to pick up goods. Sometimes the local trains are delayed, so people might show up a little late, but we don't make a big deal out of it. We keep a pot of tea going for anyone who drops by to discuss business. It is a straightforward operation here at Metcon. We don't have a marketing department or a big reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back near the loading area or sitting at the main desk sorting through the mail. It is just steady work every day.
