Mekaline Machines

Our place is located in the Puvaka Compound, right over in Dighe Village. If you know where the Sulzer Pump is on Midc Road, we’re just a short walk from there. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot in Elthanpada, but it works for us. We’ve got the machines set up in the back, and that’s where most of the hours go. It’s mostly just a few of us here making sure everything runs like it’s supposed to. We don't have a big front office or a reception area with coffee. People usually just come straight to the workshop floor if they need something. We handle machine work, mostly repairs and making specific parts that are hard to find elsewhere. The air smells like oil and metal most days, which is fine by me. We’ve been in this compound for a while now. Some of the guys have been working these same machines for ten years or more. We don't really change much unless we have to. It’s practical work. We see a lot of people from the nearby industrial areas coming in with broken parts. We take a look, tell them what we can do, and then we get on with it. It’s not a complicated life. We like being near the main road because it makes deliveries easier, though the traffic can be a real headache in the afternoons. Just a local shop doing its thing every day of the week. That’s about it for us.
