Lokansh Lokkala Foundation

Lokansh Lokkala Foundation is based in Thane, way up on G B Road. We are in the IGINS CASA UNIVIS building, specifically in unit B-1103. This area, known as Bhanider Pada, has changed quite a bit lately with all the new high-rise towers going up. Being on the eleventh floor means we are pretty high up and away from the dust of the road. It takes a while for delivery people to find the right wing sometimes, but we are used to that. The office is essentially a flat that we have converted to use for the foundation. Since we focus on Lokkala, which is folk art, we have a lot of traditional instruments and colorful materials lying around the place. It can be a bit of a mess sometimes, but we like to think of it as a creative environment. G B Road is almost always jammed with traffic, so we try to do our traveling outside of the peak hours. We do most of our planning and organizing right here in B-1103. The apartment gets a good breeze because of the height. We are not a huge organization with a lot of money. We just do what we can with the space we have available. There is often someone practicing a song or a dance move in the background while we work. It is a lively spot, even if it is just a small apartment in a big residential complex.
