Lester & Dynamiks (India)

Our place is at Plot No. 23, over in Section 2 of the Vasai Taluka Industrial Co-Op Estate. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here to Vasai East, but we’ve been here long enough that the drive feels like second nature now. The estate is huge, and sometimes even the delivery drivers get lost trying to find our specific gate. We keep the machines running most of the day. It’s not the most modern facility you’ll ever see, but it gets the job done for us. There is always a layer of fine dust on the windows, and the office is just a partitioned space in the corner of the main hall. We do a lot of mechanical work, so there are always tools scattered around on the workbenches. We try to keep it organized, but when a big job comes in, things get a bit messy for a while. The staff here is a small group, mostly local people who have been doing this for years. We don’t have big meetings or fancy presentations. We usually just gather around a machine and talk about what needs to be fixed or manufactured next. It’s a straightforward way of working. We take our tea breaks outside when the weather is nice, just to get away from the noise of the shop for a few minutes. It is a long day, but we like being out here in Vasai.
