Our store is located in Shivdhara Yadav Chawl along R M Road in Jogeshwari West. We are right on Coconut Avenue, close to the old Ajit Glass building. It is a traditional shop where we keep a bit of everything that the local families might need. The space is packed from floor to ceiling with jars, packets, and household items. You have to know where everything is, or you’ll get lost looking for a specific type of spice or soap. We open early in the morning when the milk arrives and stay open until late in the evening when people are coming home from work. It can get very crowded in the small aisle, especially when the school kids come in for snacks. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors who have lived in the chawl for decades. It is a very social place, not just a shop. There is always someone standing by the counter sharing some news or complaining about the weather. The floor is made of old stone, and the wooden shelves have been there since the beginning. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still done with a pen and a notebook. It is a simple life running a store like this. We know most of our customers by name and what they usually buy. It’s just how things are done here in our part of Jogeshwari.
