Kraftsman Scientific Glass Co. is tucked away in Digvijay Estate No. 1/22. We’re on 1St Pokhran Road, right in the Upvan area. Working with glass isn't the easiest job in the world, especially when it’s hot outside. The torches we use make the room get pretty warm by mid-afternoon. We’ve all got a few scars from bits of hot glass over the years. It’s a messy place, to be honest. There are tubes and beakers everywhere you look. We try to keep it organized, but when we’re busy, things just end up on whatever flat surface is available. The estate itself is pretty old, so the floors are uneven and the windows rattle when a truck goes by. We’ve been at this for a long time. People come to us when they need something specific made out of glass. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the one on the door. It’s quiet work mostly, except for the sound of the flames. We drink a lot of water. You have to when you’re standing near the heat all day. Sometimes we break things by accident, and we just have to start over. That’s just the nature of the material. We don't spend money on fancy marketing materials. We just stay here in Upvan and make what people ask for. It's a living, and we're good at the parts that matter. We don't need a lot of praise to keep going.
