K Tech (India) Limited is situated at 7B in the Bata Compound over in Khopat. Being right near the Eastern Express Highway means there is a constant sound of cars and trucks zooming past. The compound itself is an old industrial site, so it has that rugged, worn-in feel. Our unit is a bit tucked away, but we like it that way. Inside, we have our equipment and workbenches set up for all the technical work we handle. It isn't a place for suits and ties; most of us wear regular clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of grease on. The lighting is bright because we need to see what we are doing with the small parts. We’ve been here since before the highway was as busy as it is now. The office part is just a small corner with a couple of computers and a printer that occasionally jams. We spend most of our time out on the floor dealing with the actual machines. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't have a fancy website or a big sales team. Most people find us because they know where we are in the Bata Compound. In the evenings, the traffic on the highway gets really bad, so we often stay a bit late to let it clear out. We don't mind the lack of luxury. As long as the tools are sharp, we are happy. We just want to keep the machines running.
