You will find us at Sonal Apartments, right near the Saraswat Co-Op Bank at Jambhali Naka. It is a busy part of Thane West, and the noise from the street is something we have just grown used to over the years. Hindustan Construction Company Ltd is based in unit number 6, which is a smallish space that we have packed with everything we need. It is not the kind of place where you will see people in suits very often. We are usually in dusty shoes because we have just come back from a site or we are heading out to one soon. The office smells a bit like old paper and tea. We spend a lot of time arguing over schedules and looking for lost pens under the piles of folders. It is a very practical place. We know the neighbors and the bank staff next door pretty well because we see them every single morning. The lighting inside isn't the best, but it gets the job done. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or anything promotional because that is not what we are about. We are just here to manage the construction projects in the area. Some days the internet is slow and we all sit around frustrated, but mostly we just put our heads down and handle the logistics. It is a bit cramped and messy, but it is our workspace and we like it that way.
