We’re technically part of the Hindustan Construction Company Limited, Mumbai>, but this is our local base. If you need to call, the number is 02512696574, though someone is usually out at a site. The office is inside an apartment building, so it feels very much like a home. It’s not one of those cold, glass-walled offices you see in the movies. We’ve got our desks squeezed in, and there’s always paperwork piled up. Badlapur is a growing place, and we’ve seen a lot of new buildings go up since we started here. We don't bother with polished speeches or trying to sound more important than we are. We just do construction work. It’s a lot of long hours and dusty boots. We like being in Thane because it’s close enough to the main city but has its own feel. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it's quiet enough to hear the birds outside Satyam Appt. We’ve been here for a while now, and we know the local vendors and guys who help us out. It’s just a group of regular people trying to make a living and get the jobs finished on time. We don't make it more complicated than that. It keeps us busy and out of trouble.
