Manpada Road is one of those places in Dombivali East that is always packed with people and rickshaws. Our spot at B/1, Om Shivtirtha CHS is a bit of a relief from all that noise once you step inside. We are tucked away in Agarwal Hall Lane, which is a bit quieter. Hdfc Standard Insurance Co.Ltd. is the name on the door, but inside it’s just a regular office with a few people and a lot of insurance forms. The building is a typical cooperative housing society, so it feels very local. We spend a lot of time sitting at our desks, typing away and talking to folks who have questions about their policies. It’s a lot of practical work, nothing too flashy. During the monsoon, the rain really drums on the roof, and we have to make sure the windows are shut tight so the papers don't get damp. We have a small staff, and we’ve all gotten used to each other's habits. There’s a tea break in the afternoon that we all look forward to. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It’s just a simple room with some files and computers where we get things done. Most of the people who come in are from the nearby buildings, so there’s a lot of small talk about the local area. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes in.
