Our place is located in the Nandanvan Industrial Estate, units 12/13-Ab, right on L.B.S. Marg. If you’ve ever driven down L.B.S. Marg, you know the noise and the constant movement of the city. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of the road just fade into the background. Harinder Trading is a bit of a mix—we do some trading and some industrial work. Our space is divided between a front area for books and records and a back area where the real work happens. It’s often dusty and there’s always something that needs fixing or moving. We have a few old fans that creak when they turn, but they help during the humid months. Most of us have worked here for years, so we don't need to say much to get the day started. We just show up, check what needs to be traded or moved, and get to it. It’s not the kind of business you see in glossy magazines. It’s practical and a bit rough around the edges. We keep our tools and materials organized as best as we can, though things tend to wander off. We’ve seen the estate change over the decades, but our routine stays pretty much the same. We just want to get through the daily tasks and make sure the customers get what they ordered without any fuss. It is a long day but we get it done.
