You can find us over at Maitri Vatika, specifically in B Wing, Room 507 of the Maitri Kasturi building. We’re located in Parsik Nagar, which is part of Kalwa in Thane West. Working for the Govt Of Maharashtra from this spot means we’re right in the middle of a busy residential area. The office is on the fifth floor, so we get a bit of a view of the surrounding buildings, though it's mostly just rooftops and laundry hanging out. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens now and then. Inside, the space is packed with cupboards and desks. We don’t have any decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few old posters. It’s a functional space where we handle the daily grind of government work. The staff here are locals who know the Kalwa area well. We spend most of our time going through documents and answering questions from people who drop by. It’s not a fancy corporate environment with coffee machines and lounge chairs. We just have our chai from the stall downstairs and get on with the filing. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but there’s always a pile of work waiting for us in the morning. We don't try to make it look like something it’s not. It’s just an office in Thane where things get done, one day at a time.
