Gopalkrishna Charitable Foundation

We operate out of Flat No A 102 on Plot No 6. This is in Sector 11 in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai. It is a residential building, so it feels very much like a home. We like it that way because it keeps things relaxed. We aren't a big corporate foundation with hundreds of employees. It is just a small group of us who live and work in the area. We focus on charity work that helps the people around here. Most of our neighbors know what we do. They might drop by with questions or sometimes they offer to help out. We don't have any big signs outside. You just have to know the flat number. Ghansoli is a nice place to be. It’s a bit quieter than Mumbai across the water. We have been in this flat for a good while. The rooms are filled with boxes and papers from our various projects. We don't worry too much about keeping things perfectly tidy. It’s more important to us that the work gets done. We don't have a big vision or a list of goals. We just see something that needs a bit of help and we try to provide it. It’s a simple way to spend our time. We enjoy being part of the community here and plan to stay for a long time. Some evenings we just sit on the balcony and talk about what to do next.
