Gholwad Bordi Chikoo Foundation

Up here in Bordi, everyone knows about the chikoo farms. We’re based out of House Number 165. It’s a quiet part of the Dahanu area in the Thane district. Our group focuses on the local stuff that matters to people living around here. The air is a bit different than the city, and we like that. We spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors. It’s not a corporate setup at all. Most of the work happens right here in the village. We’ve been at this address for a bit now. If you’re coming through Dahanu, it’s not too hard to find us. We don’t have some big glossy brochure. We just do what needs doing for the local community. The foundation is small and we prefer it that way. Sometimes the weather gets a bit rough during the monsoon, and we have to slow down. But mostly, we’re just here in Bordi, keeping an eye on things. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a couple of us who care about the area. We’ve lived here our whole lives, so starting this made sense. It’s about the land and the people we see every day at the market. That’s what we do. No big speeches or anything like that. Just staying local and staying busy at House 165. It's a modest place but it works for us.
