Getwell Clinic

Running a clinic in Mumbra is never a quiet job. Getwell Clinic is located in Shop No 7, over in the D Chawl area. If you know where Hilton Bakery is in the Rashid Compound, we are just right there. It’s a busy spot in Thane and the noise from the street never really stops. We open up early because that’s when people usually want to see a doctor before they head off to their jobs. The space inside isn't anything fancy, just a couple of rooms and some chairs for people to wait on. Sometimes the wait gets long, especially during the monsoon when everyone seems to have a fever or a cough. We see a lot of families from around the compound coming in. I spend most of my time filing papers or cleaning the floor after the morning rush. The building itself is old, like most things in this part of Mumbra, so we’re always fixing a leaky tap or a flickering light. It’s a practical place for people to get checked out without having to travel too far. We’ve got a small desk where we write down names and a cupboard for basic supplies. It’s just a normal part of the neighborhood, really. You see the same faces every week, and you get to know who lives where. We just keep things moving as best as we can every day, trying to help everyone who walks in.
