We are based at Flat No. 20 in Dombivli. It’s a regular apartment setup for General Motors India Pvt. Ltd. Being in Maharashtra, specifically in this part of the world, means dealing with the local crowds and the train schedules. Dombivli is a very busy place. Our office is just a flat that we converted into a workspace. It’s got a kitchen where we make our own tea and a small balcony where we can see the street below. It gets very noisy during the festivals. We have files stacked up in the corner of the living room area. It’s not your typical corporate office with glass walls. It feels more like a home. We have a few computers and a printer that jams if you put too much paper in it. Most of us live within a few kilometers, so we don't have to travel as far as the people going into Mumbai city. We like it that way. We know the lady who sells vegetables downstairs. The building is a bit old, so the pipes sometimes rattle when someone upstairs takes a shower. We just work through it. It’s a practical way to run things without all the extra costs. We handle what we need to and then lock up the flat in the evening. It’s a simple, honest way to get things done. We usually leave the windows open to get a little bit of a breeze.
