You can find us at Rajdeep Society, right across from the I.T.O. office. It’s a convenient spot, though the traffic near I.T.O. can be a real headache during rush hour. We occupy units 23 and 24. Since we deal with batteries, the place is full of heavy crates and the smell of lead and plastic. It’s a very practical kind of warehouse and office mix. We spend a lot of time moving stock around and checking voltages. The floor is concrete because it needs to hold the weight of all those batteries. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and answer the phone. It’s not a place where you’d find plush carpets or expensive art. Most of the guys here wear work clothes because it’s easy to get dirty when you’re handling old batteries or moving new ones. We have a regular routine: check the morning shipments, sort the returns, and make sure the deliveries are ready for the afternoon. Sometimes the neighbors in the society complain if we block the lane with a truck, so we have to be quick about loading. We’ve been here for a long time, and the locals know where to come if they need power solutions. It’s a basic, honest business. We drink a lot of tea and stay busy until the sun goes down and we lock up the shutters. The security guard at the gate always waves as we leave.
