Our office is tucked away in Wagale Estate in Thane, right behind the Maruthi Mandir. The building is called Aadarsh Niwas, and it is a typical place for businesses in this part of town. We handle the paperwork and logistics for the terminal down at the port, even though we are a little bit of a drive away from the water. It gets really humid around here, especially when the rains start, but we have some fans and a small AC unit to keep us going. Most of our time is spent coordinating the movement of containers and talking to the crews who are actually on the ground at the terminal. It is a lot of back-and-forth on the phone. The office is usually quite noisy with everyone talking at once about different shipments. We do not worry much about formal dress or sounding corporate. We just wear what is comfortable and focus on getting the work done. There is a tea stall down the street where we go for a quick break, which is nice when you need to step away from the computer for a bit. Sant Dyaneshawar Nagar is always busy, so there is plenty of life outside the door. We have been here for a while and we are used to the fast pace of the shipping world. It is hard work, but it is what we do.
