Empire Suiting & Shirting

Our shop, Empire Suiting & Shirting, is located over in the Gagnda Lal area of Kotwali West. It’s a part of town that has been around for ages, and we feel like part of the furniture now. We deal with rolls of cloth for suits and shirts, mostly. The shelves are packed with different fabrics, and sometimes it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for without digging a bit. We don't have those fancy bright lights you see in the big malls. It’s just a regular shop with a wooden counter and a few chairs for people to sit while they pick their fabric. The street outside is usually quite noisy with people walking by and cars honking. We’ve gotten used to the bustle over the years. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in the city. We just offer what we have and help people choose something that looks decent. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days we can't keep up with the customers. It’s just how it goes in retail. We try to keep the place tidy, but with all the bolts of fabric, it’s a bit of a struggle. We’ve been in Kotwali West for a long time and we know most of the other shop owners around here. It’s a community, really. We just do our bit and hope for a good day. It is a honest living and we enjoy meeting the people.
