We operate DLF Laing Orourke India Limited out of the Mumbai and Thane area. It’s a huge region to cover, and honestly, we spend a lot of our time just traveling between different sites and meetings. The humidity here is something you never really stop complaining about, but it’s just part of the job. Since we are based in this part of India, we deal with a lot of the logistical challenges that come with big city construction. There is always a road closed or a delay because of the rain. Our office is a place where we try to make sense of all the moving parts. It isn't a flashy place with a view of the ocean or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace with a lot of maps on the walls and people constantly on their mobile phones. We have a mix of staff, some who have been here for years and some new faces. We don't have a lot of formal rules about how things look, as long as the work gets done and the projects keep moving forward. It’s a busy environment, and sometimes it feels like we are just chasing our tails, but we usually get there in the end. The team is used to the fast pace of the city. We just keep our heads down and focus on the practical side of things, like materials and labor schedules, without making much of a fuss.
