Crowd21 Social Welfare Foundation

You’ll find us on the first floor at Haware Fantasia, right across from the Vashi railway station. It’s a very busy area in Sector 30A, so there’s always a lot of foot traffic and noise from the trains. Crowd21 Social Welfare Foundation is based in unit F-67. It’s a modest office, nothing like the big corporate places you see in the center of Mumbai. We’ve got a few desks pushed together and a small area where we make tea. We started this because we wanted to help out with social issues in our own small way. It’s not always easy, and sometimes the office feels a bit cramped when we have volunteers over to help. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do here. We just look at what’s needed in the neighborhood and try to organize people to help out. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized, but we always manage to get the job done in the end. The commute for us is easy since the station is right there, which really helps. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting people who drop in to see us. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We don’t have a big budget for decorations, so it’s mostly just files and folders on the shelves. We just like helping out and keeping things simple. That’s really all there is to it for our team.
