We are based at SS/28A in Sabgharsh Nagar, which is right along the busy Kamptee Road. It’s a lively neighborhood, though it can get a bit dusty and loud with all the trucks passing by. Our space is quite modest and we’ve had to fix a few leaks in the roof when the monsoon gets heavy. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a business park, but it works for us. We have a few plastic chairs for visitors and a long table where we do all our research and care work. There’s always a bit of street noise coming in, but we’ve learned to talk over it. We don’t have any fancy signs out front, just a small board so people know they’ve found the right door. Most of the people who come to see us are from the nearby zopadpatti or the surrounding streets. We keep our records in simple folders and try to stay on top of all the paperwork. It’s often quite busy, and some days it feels like there isn't enough space for everyone, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time just listening to people’s stories and trying to figure out how to help. It’s very hands-on and can be exhausting, but being right here on Kamptee Road makes us feel connected to the reality of the city. It’s just an honest setup where we focus on the daily tasks at hand.
