Amarcon Valves is tucked away in the Kothari Compound on Manpadakujini Wadi Road over in Manpada. It’s a bit of a maze back here in the industrial area. We are at Plot 7, D No. 27. We make valves and other hardware for different projects. The workshop is full of metal parts and oil. It’s not the cleanest place in the world but we get things done. We have a small crew that knows how to handle the lathes and the presses. Some of the machines are old and a bit temperamental but we know how to fix them when they act up. The compound gets pretty busy with trucks and workers during the day. Sometimes we have to shout to hear each other over the noise. We don't really do much marketing. Most of our work comes from people who know us or heard about us from someone else. It’s a practical business and we don't have time for anything that isn't necessary. We spend our days measuring and cutting and checking the fit of every valve. It is repetitive but important work. If you are driving down the road in Manpada you might miss the turnoff if you aren't looking closely. We are just a group of people making things that work. It isn't glamorous but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. We like the grit of the work here.
