Adarsh Ice Cold Storage

Adarsh Ice Cold Storage is out in the Electronic Zone of MIDC Mahape. We are at unit EL-107. It’s a big contrast here because Mahape can get incredibly hot, but once you step inside our doors, it’s freezing. We have these massive heavy doors that keep the cold in, and you can hear the constant hum of the refrigeration units. It’s a vital sound for us; if that hum stops, we have a problem. The Electronic Zone is mostly full of tech companies and offices, so a cold storage facility is a bit of an outlier. We spend our days moving crates and checking temperatures. We have to wear thick jackets even when it’s 40 degrees outside. The loading dock is usually busy in the mornings when the trucks arrive. It’s not a glamorous job, and the electricity bills are always on our minds. The facility is mostly just rows of racks and cold air. We don’t have a fancy front office with a receptionist. Usually, someone will just come out of the cold rooms to talk to you. We’ve been at EL-107 for a while, and we know the quirks of the building and the power grid in Mahape. It’s a straightforward operation where we just focus on keeping everything at the right temperature for the customers.
