Our workshop is at 98A/25B in the Hadapsar Industrial Estate, right near the Kirloskar Pneumatic plant. It’s a very industrial part of Pune, so there’s always the sound of metal clanging and heavy trucks driving by. We’ve been in this particular unit for a long time. The floor is stained with oil and grease from the machines, which is just part of the job when you work with parts all day. We have a small office section partitioned off with some glass that has seen better days. It gets quite loud in here when the neighbors are running their big compressors, but we’ve mostly gotten used to it. We don't really have a reception area; if someone comes by, they usually just walk right into the shop floor and find one of us. We spend most of our time looking over drawings or checking the measurements on the pieces we're finishing up. It’s a dirty job sometimes, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We have a small lunch area where we all sit together around a big wooden table that wobbles if you lean on it too hard. It’s just regular people doing regular work here. We don't try to be something we're not. We just focus on getting the orders out the door so we can get paid and come back tomorrow to do it all over again.
