Kanuka Tea Estate

Kanuka Tea Estate is found in the village of Rakhasmari, which is near the Hoograjuli post office and tehsil in Sonitpur district. Life out here is a lot different than in the big cities. We spend our days out on the land, dealing with the tea bushes and the changing weather of Assam. It’s a rural life, and we are very much tied to the soil of Sonitpur. The estate is a place of hard work, where we watch the plants grow and manage the picking and processing. We don't have fancy machinery or a big marketing team. It’s mostly just us and the local workers from the village who have been with us for years. The roads can be rough, especially after the monsoon rains, but the work at the estate never really stops. We spend a lot of time just being outside and making sure the tea is being handled properly. It is a quiet existence for the most part, away from the noise of the main towns. We know everyone in Rakhasmari and Hoograjuli. Our business is built on the daily effort of staying on top of the farm work. It’s not a polished operation, just a real tea estate where things get done by hand and with a lot of patience. We just keep our focus on the land and the crop we produce every single season without much fuss.
