Jyoti Rubber Stamp House

Jyoti Rubber Stamp House is over by the Jonaki Cinema Complex. We are right near the Tezpur Thana in Sonitpur district. It’s a busy corner of town. We spend our days making stamps for offices and schools around here. We have all the little pieces of rubber and wood piled up on the shelves. It smells like ink and rubber most of the time. We’ve been at this for years. You’ve probably seen our stamps on documents around town. We aren't a big factory or anything. It's just a small shop where we work with our hands. Sometimes the machine acts up, but we fix it and keep going. People usually drop in when they're near the police station. It's a handy location for everyone. We don't bother with fancy displays. The work speaks for itself. We make sure the letters are straight and the ink flows right. That’s about it. Some days we have a lot of orders, especially when the schools open. Other days it’s just one or two people looking for a date stamp. We stay until the sun goes down. It's honest work. We know most of the people who come in. They tell us about their families while we finish their orders. It makes the day go faster. We like being part of the Tezpur community. It’s home and we don't plan on going anywhere else soon.
