Thirumurugan Vegtables

Thirumurugan Vegtables is located at 5/48 Sundakudi Road in the Alanthuraiyar Kattalai area. We are a local business that deals with what the land provides. Every morning starts very early for us, usually well before the sun comes up. We have to get everything ready before the first customers arrive looking for things for their morning meals. Our shop is quite open to the street so people can see what we have as they walk or drive by. We get our produce from the nearby farms and sometimes from the bigger markets if we need something specific. The floor is often wet from washing the greens and keeping things cool. We use old wooden crates and some plastic bins to show what is available that day. My wife helps me with the weighing and the money while I handle the heavy bags and talk to the farmers. We don't have any refrigeration, so we have to sell everything fast while it is still good. If we have stuff left over at the end of the day, we usually find a use for it or give it to the animals. The neighborhood is quiet mostly, except for the traffic on Sundakudi Road. We have been here for years and most people know exactly where to find us. It is a simple way to make a living and we enjoy being around the fresh food and our neighbors every single day.
