The Sun Blue Metals

The Sun Blue Metals is located at 473, Athaikondan Main Road in Iluppaiyurani. It’s a big open space because that’s what you need when you’re dealing with metal. There is no air conditioning out here for us. We spend our days outside or in the open shed. It gets noisy. The sound of metal hitting metal is something you just stop hearing after a few months. Iluppaiyurani is a hot place, and the sun reflects off the piles of material we keep in the yard. We aren't a polished office at all. Most of the time, our clothes are stained with grease or rust. That’s just the nature of the trade we are in. We have a small cabin where we keep the paperwork, but it’s mostly just for show. Most of the real business happens out in the yard with a handshake or a quick note on a scrap of paper. We see all kinds of people, from large construction crews to a man needing a single piece for a gate. The Athaikondan Main Road is always busy, so there is a constant hum of traffic in the background. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We’ve been here long enough that the address is familiar to anyone in this line of work. It’s a hard, hot job, but it is ours and we are used to it.
