Sri Soleeswarar Traders

Sri Soleeswarar Traders is at 89 Thiruvalluvar Street here in Shanmugappuram. It’s a fairly quiet street compared to the main roads, but we still get plenty of foot traffic from the neighbors. We’ve been running this trading business from this same spot for quite some time now. The building is a bit old, and the paint is starting to flake off near the bottom of the walls, but it serves us well. We stock a variety of things depending on what people in the area are asking for. It’s mostly just a few of us working here. We start the day by opening the shutters and giving the floor a quick sweep. The shelves are packed pretty tight, so sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. We don’t use any of those high-tech scanners. We just know where everything is. Or we usually do, unless someone moved it. We talk to the people who come in, mostly about local news or how the prices of things keep going up. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a big delivery fleet, just a small vehicle for local drops. Shanmugappuram is a tight-knit community, and we like being part of it. We don't have a big corporate structure or managers watching over us. It’s just us making decisions as we go. Sometimes we make mistakes, like ordering too much of something that doesn't sell, but we learn from it. We're usually just sitting near the counter, ready to help whoever walks in.
