Tenkasi is a quiet place, and our clinic fits right in with that. We focus on physiotherapy and acupuncture, so things are usually pretty calm inside. We don’t have those big machines you see in city hospitals. Instead, we have a few treatment tables and the needles we use for the acupuncture sessions. People come in with all sorts of aches, maybe from working in the fields or just getting older. We spend a lot of time talking to them while we work on their backs or legs. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but it’s cool and shaded inside, which is nice when the Tenkasi sun is out. We don’t use a lot of fancy medical terms when we talk to our patients. We just explain what we’re doing with the exercises or the needles in simple words. Sometimes the clinic smells a bit like the herbal oils we use. It’s a small operation, usually just a couple of us working at a time. We don’t have a website or anything like that. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or relatives who have been here before. We just try to help folks move a bit better without making things too complicated. It’s a slow pace of work, but we find that it works best for the people who come to see us. We’ve been here for several years now.
