Nanban Hotel

If you ever visit Courtallam, you probably know about the main falls. Our place, Nanban Hotel, is situated right near there at No 33 in Sanmathi bazaar. It’s a lively place to be, especially when the water is flowing well and all the tourists come to Tenkasi for a dip. We are right in the middle of the action in Kutraalam. The hotel is quite basic because we think people just want a place to sit and eat something honest after spending time at the falls. The bazaar area is always full of people shouting and cars trying to find a parking spot. Inside the hotel, we try to keep things moving. We don't have a big menu with hundreds of items. We just do what we know. The staff here are like family, and we’ve been working together for a long while now. Sometimes the floor gets a bit wet because people come in straight from the falls, but we try to mop it up quickly. We don’t really have a marketing person or a fancy website. People just walk in because they are hungry and we are right there in the bazaar. It’s a lot of hard work keeping up with the crowds during the peak season, but then it gets quiet during the off-season and we get a bit of a break. It's just a local business trying to do its part.
