At 96 East Car Street in Sivagiri, you will find our place, Nalini Spices. We have been working out of this spot for a long time. East Car Street is one of those places that feels very traditional, especially with the temple nearby. When there are processions, the whole street gets packed with people, and we just stand by the door and watch them go by. Inside our shop, the air always smells like the goods we handle. It’s a strong scent that sticks to your clothes, but we don’t notice it much anymore. Sivagiri is a small town, so news travels fast and everyone knows everyone. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a team of people. It’s just a few of us handling the bags and the scales. The building at number 96 is old, with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it cool. We have some old wooden shelves that have been there since the beginning. We spend a lot of time sorting through things to make sure everything is okay. People come to us because they know we are always here on East Car Street. We don't try to be anything we're not. We're just Nalini Spices, and we’ve been part of the Sivagiri landscape for as long as I can remember. It’s a quiet, honest way to make a living and we are happy with it.
