If you find yourself in Surandai, specifically near the Udhayam Watch Palace, you’ll likely stumble across J J Traders. We are located at 4-5-25 / 3 in Keela Surandai. It’s a busy little corner. I’ve been working here for years, and the routine is pretty much the same every day. We open the shutters, sweep the front, and get ready for whatever the day brings. It’s a local business through and through. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. My father started this, and I’ve just sort of kept it going. We don't have a website or anything like that usually, we just talk to people. The shop is filled with all sorts of things, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer wants, but we always find it eventually. The watch palace nearby is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. We get a lot of foot traffic from people heading that way. It’s a simple setup. We have a couple of wooden chairs for friends who stop by to chat. The rain sometimes leaks through the front awning if it’s heavy, but we’ve learned to move the stock back in time. We don't have big goals of expanding everywhere. We just like serving the people here in Surandai and keeping the business running smoothly every single day.
