Granite Trading

Our yard is located at 36, Ayyapuram. It’s not a very big setup, just a simple place with plenty of stone slabs. We have been trading here for a long time. Mostly we just buy and sell granite. People come to us from the nearby villages when they are building something. It’s a pretty quiet spot compared to the bigger towns. We don’t have any sales people, just me and two others who help with the loading. We spend most of the day moving slabs on and off trucks. Since the stone is so heavy, we have to be very careful. We don't do any real advertising. Usually, a neighbor tells someone about us and they show up. We keep the stone stacked up high in rows. You just have to walk through and see what you like. Some pieces have nice patterns and some are just plain. We don't try to push anyone into buying. If someone wants a cheap piece for a small job, we show them that. If they want something better, we show them that too. The weather can be a bit of a problem when it rains because the yard gets very muddy and slippery. We still keep working though. It’s a simple business. We buy the stone and then we sell it to whoever needs it. There isn't much more to it than that. We just try to be fair and keep the place running.
