We’ve been here on Main Road in Pottalpudhuropp for a while now. Most people know the building because we're right by the petrol bulk in Kadayam. It’s a busy spot with vehicles coming and going all day long. We handle the chit fund stuff here at this office. It originally started because folks in the neighborhood needed a way to manage their savings without a lot of fuss. We open the doors early every morning, sit at our desks, and wait for people to drop by. Sometimes it gets quite crowded when a new group starts up. We keep big ledger books and talk to everyone who walks through the door. It's not a big fancy office with air conditioning everywhere. Just a regular place where we do the paperwork. You'll see us there if you're passing the petrol pump on your way into town. We know most of the faces around here by name. If someone has a question about their monthly payment or the bidding, they just walk in and ask. We don't have a big call center or anything like that to deal with. It’s just us and our calculators. The heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so the old ceiling fan is always going. We try to stay organized with all the files and folders. Paperwork takes up a lot of our time, but that's how it goes when you’re dealing with people's money. It’s a small community and we just keep things moving along day by day.
