Veerbhoomi Nidhi Limited is based in the village of Sour Srikot. We are near the Chamiyala post office in the Ghansali area of Tehri Garhwal. Our office is actually at Virendra Dutt Semwal’s place. It’s a very rural setting, right in the hills of Uttarakhand. The pin code here is 249125. We started this because there was a need for a local Nidhi company in the village. We don’t have a big corporate office in the city. Instead, we work from this quiet spot where we can see the mountains. People from Sour Srikot and other nearby villages walk over to see us. We handle savings and other small financial things. It is a slow-paced environment, which suits us just fine. Sometimes the weather in Tehri Garhwal makes it hard for people to travel, but we try to be there when we are needed. We keep our records by hand mostly, though we have a computer too. It’s just a simple room with some chairs for visitors. Virendra Dutt Semwal helps keep things running smoothly. We are not interested in being some giant bank. We just want to help our neighbors manage their money in a way that makes sense for our village life. It’s a small operation, but it’s ours.
