Skawz Welfare Foundation

Out here on Khemkaran Road in Patti, you can find us at number 169. We are based out of Shamsher Singh’s place. Tarn Taran is a busy district, and Fatti is a small corner of it where we try to do our part through Skawz Welfare Foundation. It’s a very local operation. Most of us grew up right here in these streets, so we know the families and the struggles they face. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. What we have is a desk, a few chairs, and a lot of determination to help our neighbors. Sometimes the road is dusty and the work is slow, but we stay at it. People stop by to see Shamsher or any of the rest of us when they have a problem. We try to listen and see what we can do to help with education or food or whatever else is coming up. It’s a bit informal, maybe a bit messy at times, but that’s because we are real people doing real work. We don’t use big words or pretend to be more than we are. Just a group of friends trying to make Patti a little bit better for everyone who lives here. Every day brings a new challenge, and we just handle them one by one as they arrive at our door. It is a simple life and the work is often heavy, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
