We started Jyoti Creations Pvt Ltd here in Tarn Taran a while back. Our place is on the Sarhali Kalan Harike Road. It is a busy spot near Sarhali Kalan. Most days start early for us. We get here and open up the metal shutters. You can hear the traffic and trucks outside all day long. It gets dusty sometimes because of the road being so close, but we manage. Some of us have been working here for years now. We just do our work and go home to our families. There is a small tea stall nearby where we go during our breaks. The building isn't brand new or anything fancy. It has some character though. We usually have a lot of stuff piled up in the corners. It keeps us busy and the space feels full. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit in the afternoon, so we just sit and talk on the porch. Then we get back to it when the lights come on. We aren't a huge team. Everyone knows everyone’s business. My cousin helps out with the books and the phone. We don't have a fancy lobby for people to wait in. Folks just walk in if they need something. The rain makes the road a bit muddy in the monsoon season. We have to keep cleaning the floor every hour. It is just a regular workplace. Nothing too fancy. We make things and try to get orders out on time. The address is easy to find if you know the area. Most locals know where the Harike Road is. We stay late if there is extra work to do. That’s just how it goes here in Tarn Taran.
