Cannan Sea Foods Private Limited

Cannan Sea Foods is based out in Tarn Taran, right on the Goindwal Road. It might seem a bit odd to have a seafood company here in the middle of Punjab, but we make it work. We are located near Guru Amardass Avenue. The main thing about our day is ice and timing. Because we are dealing with fish and other things from the sea, we have to be really fast about how we move things in and out of the cold storage. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and the floors are almost always wet, so everyone wears rubber boots. We don't have a fancy lobby or a place for people to sit and have tea. It’s mostly just a workspace where we get the orders ready for the local markets and restaurants around Amritsar. The Goindwal Road gets a lot of tractors and trucks, so there’s always a bit of mud or dust outside our gates. We have a small team of guys who have been with us for a while now, and they know the routine. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a tie. You’re more likely to have a jacket on because of the freezers, even when it’s boiling hot outside. We just keep our heads down and make sure the crates are packed right so nothing spoils. It’s a tough business but we’ve found our rhythm here in Tarn Taran over the last few years. Every day is a race against the clock.
