The Brigade Coffee & Spices

Our business is situated at 56-88 on Kalasa Road, over in the Horanadu area of Chikmagalur. This part of the country is famous for coffee, so it makes sense that we are here. We don't just do coffee though; we also handle a lot of spices. When you walk inside, the smell is very strong, a mix of coffee beans and black pepper and maybe some cardamom. It is a working space more than a shop. We spend our days hauling heavy sacks around and making sure the quality is okay. The floor is concrete and we have big industrial scales for weighing the loads. It is hard on the back, but it is the life we chose. The building is right on the main road, so trucks are always stopping by to drop things off or pick them up. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you just walk in and find someone who isn't currently carrying a bag. We have lived in Chikmagalur for a long time and we know the farmers around here. We just try to do a good job with what we have. The address is 56-88, and the sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but you can still read it clearly. We stay busy during the harvest season especially because that is when everyone brings their crops in for us to look at.
