About Shiv Masala Udyog – Food & Beverages in Taranagar
We are located at Dharamstoop, specifically in Ward No. 17. The air around our place usually smells like cumin or dried chilies, depending on what we are grinding that day. Shiv Masala Udyog is a small operation. We have a couple of machines that do the heavy work of crushing the spices into powder. It’s loud when they are running, so we don't talk much during those hours. Most of the day is spent weighing the spices and putting them into bags. We use simple scales and seal the plastic by hand. The floors get dusty with spice powder, so we have to wash them down every evening. Ward No. 17 is a tight-knit area, and many of the neighbors buy their supplies directly from us. We don't have fancy packaging with bright colors. We just use clear bags so people can see what they are getting. Sometimes the raw material we get isn't dry enough, so we have to spread it out in the sun for a bit. It’s a lot of manual labor. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us working with the spices and making sure the bags are full. We have been at Dharamstoop for years and the routine hasn't changed much. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We mostly just focus on getting the grinding done before it gets too dark.
