Gurukul Madhyamik Shala

Gurukul Madhyamik Shala is located up in Ahwa Dangs. This part of the Daang district is quite green, and the school sits right in the middle of it. We are a secondary school, so we deal with the older kids from the nearby villages. Life here is a bit slower than in the big cities. Most of our students walk quite a distance to get to class every morning. The school building is a simple structure that has seen a lot of seasons. We have basic classrooms where we teach the state curriculum. It’s not a place with fancy gadgets or high-tech stuff. We rely on textbooks and the teachers’ voices to get the job done. In the rainy season, the clouds often hang low over the hills here, and it can get quite damp in the rooms. We just carry on with our work regardless of the weather. There is a small staff room where we have our tea and plan the day’s activities. The kids here are mostly from farming families, so they are hardworking and used to a simple way of life. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. Word travels by mouth in Ahwa. We just try to provide a steady place for the students to learn their subjects and pass their exams. It’s a quiet life at our school in the hills, and we like it that way. Most days go by without much trouble.
