No. 53 Chintora is where we keep all our stock. We’re located in Ambedkar Nagar, and it’s a pretty busy street most times of the day. We work with textiles, so there’s always a bit of lint and thread on the floor. It’s hard to keep it perfectly clean, honestly. We have rolls of cloth piled up high against the walls. Some of them have been sitting there longer than I’ve worked here. We cut fabric to size and send it out to whoever needs it. Sometimes the machines get jammed and we have to spend an hour fixing them with a rusty screwdriver and some oil. It’s messy work, but it needs doing. We don't have a showroom or any fancy displays. It’s more of a warehouse feel inside. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, so we have to move the expensive fabric to the middle of the room. We take turns bringing in snacks for the afternoon tea break. The light in the back corner flickers constantly, which is annoying, but we haven't gotten around to changing the bulb yet. Most of the people who buy from us have been doing so for years. They know we’re just regular folks doing our jobs. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our little shop here in Chintora. It gets quite hot in the summer with all the fabric soaking up the heat. We just keep the fans running and do our best every single day.
