Maa Kali Ambulance

We are based in Village Gopalpur, which is right near the Mahisadal Hospital More. Being so close to the hospital is important for what we do at Maa Kali Ambulance. It’s not a typical nine-to-five kind of place. Sometimes it’s very quiet and we’re just sitting around the post in Gopalpur, drinking tea and waiting. Other times, it’s a complete rush. We have to keep the vehicles ready all the time, so you’ll often see us out there checking the oil or cleaning the interiors. The humidity in Purba Midnapur can be tough on the engines, so we have to stay on top of it. Our office is just a small room with a phone, a couple of chairs, and some basic medical supplies on the shelf. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. Most people in Mahisadal just have our number saved or they know where to find us near the hospital more. It can be a stressful job, especially when we’re driving through the narrow village roads at night. But we’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know every turn and pothole. We don't make any big promises, we just try to get there as fast as we safely can when a call comes in. That’s how it works for us. We've been operating out of this village for years and everyone around here knows the van by sight.
