You can find Svp Laser Technologies over in the SIDCO Industrial Estate in Thirumudivakkam. We are in block 27/B-3. Being in an industrial estate means there’s always noise and trucks moving around, which suits us just fine. We work with lasers here, but it’s not as sci-fi as it sounds. Mostly it’s just a lot of cutting and precision work on different materials. We set the machines, check the programs, and make sure the cuts are clean. It’s repetitive work sometimes, but you have to keep a close eye on everything. The heat from the machines can get a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going all day. Our team is pretty small, and we’ve all worked together for a long time. We aren’t really interested in being a big corporate office. We like being on the floor where the actual work happens. People come to us when they need parts cut precisely, and we just do our best to get the dimensions right. Sometimes the material acts up or the laser needs a bit of tweaking, so we spend a lot of time adjusting the settings. It’s a practical job. We show up, run the machines, pack the parts, and go home. Thirumudivakkam is a bit of a drive for some people, but it’s where all the making happens, so it’s the right place for a shop like ours to be located.
