At Sriram Cold Forgings Pvt. Ltd., we are based out of the Sidco Industrial Estate in Vichoor. If you know the area, you know it’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but there’s plenty of space for the machines. We occupy plots 71 and 72. It’s mostly just the sound of the headers and presses going all day long. Cold forging is noisy business. We spend a lot of time checking the dies and making sure the wire or slugs are feeding into the machines correctly. There’s always a bit of oil on the floor, no matter how much we try to keep it clean. It’s just part of the process when you're hitting metal into shape at high speeds. Our team is a mix of older hands who have been in the forging line for decades and some younger guys learning the trade. We don't have a big corporate setup. The office is just a small room at the front where we keep the paperwork and take calls. Most of the time, the supervisor is out on the shop floor anyway. We deal with a lot of different orders, some small and some quite large. We just take them as they come. It gets hot in the summer out here in Vichoor, but we keep the fans running and keep the production moving. It's a straightforward operation where we focus on the work itself rather than fancy presentations.
