Leela Silks

Leela Silks is tucked away on the 3rd floor at 28, 1st Cross in Cubbonpet. Cubbonpet is one of those old parts of the city with very narrow lanes and a lot of history with textiles. Being on the third floor means we have to carry everything up and down, which can be a bit of a workout. We don't have a big showroom on the ground floor with mannequins. It’s more of a warehouse and a small office space where we handle the silk fabrics. The area is always crowded with people and vehicles, so it’s quite a lively place to be. We deal with different kinds of silk, mostly supplying to other shops or tailors. The lighting in our space isn't the best, but we have big windows that help during the day. We aren't a big brand with expensive ads. We just know our fabrics and have been doing this for years. Most of our customers are people who have been buying from us for a long time. The office is often filled with rolls of cloth and the smell of raw silk. It can get a bit dusty, but we keep things as tidy as we can. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just come in, check the stock, and fill the orders. It’s a simple business run by a few of us here in Cubbonpet.
