Igarashi Motors

Igarashi Motors is based at Plot B-16 in Phase 2 of the MEPZ area in Tambaram. MEPZ is a huge place, so it takes a bit of time just to get from the main gate to our building. You have to pass through security and follow the long roads that wind through the different phases. Our plot is a large, functional building designed for efficiency rather than looks. It has high ceilings and plenty of room for all the machinery and parts we deal with. The atmosphere is very industrial; you can hear the hum of machines throughout the day. We have a small break room where the staff gathers for tea, and it’s usually the busiest place in the building around eleven in the morning. Outside, the area is well-maintained because of the zone regulations, but it still feels like a heavy-duty work site. We have a lot of windows, but they are usually covered in a bit of dust from the road. Our office staff and the floor workers interact all the time; there isn't much of a divide here. We all wear the same simple uniforms, and we all use the same entrance. It’s a very practical, no-nonsense environment. We don't have any flashy displays or a big marketing team sitting in the corner. We just focus on the motors and making sure every single one is checked before it leaves the gate. It’s steady work in a busy part of Chennai, and we like the routine of the industrial life here.
