Living and working in Surapet means you get used to the dust and the heat of the city. Our shop is right in the middle of it all, and if you come inside, you will see samples of different finishes all over the walls. We spend a lot of time mixing colors and showing people what different textures look like when they actually dry. It is a bit of a messy job, to be honest. There are always lids that don't want to close and brushes that need cleaning. We don't bother with a lot of decorations because the paint on the walls is enough. When someone comes in looking to change the look of their house, we just pull out the buckets and start talking about what might work. It is not about being fancy; it is about finding a color that doesn't look bad after a year of sun. Most of our days are spent handling heavy tins and making sure the orders are ready for the painters who come by in their small vans. Surapet has changed a lot over the years, but people still want their homes to look nice. We keep the place open until the evening, usually closing up once the streetlights come on. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There is always a new batch of paint to stir or a customer who needs advice on which roller to use for their bedroom wall.
